Maybe Your Watching It Wrong...Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17872147409059071042noreply@blogger.comBlogger8125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1639229484388989842.post-87347323195458823772010-11-03T23:03:55.564-04:002010-11-03T23:03:55.564-04:00loved reading your post, in total agreement. I am ...loved reading your post, in total agreement. I am a noise person as well, but most of the time when it is just me it's music. If my daughter is up it's PBS Sprout. This is what catches her attention. SONGS! She pays attention long enough to enjoy the theme song. Longer when Barney, the Wiggles and Sesame Street are on (especially Elmo) I agree, I think it is all how you approach it. K is so different than my nephew C. C gets angry if you are talking when "his shows" are on. C will change the channel on a TV to cartoon network regardless what is on even if someone else is watching. He did this to my husband during a baseball game once. He's obsessed with the tv. We were celebrating a birthday at my Brother-in-Law's house and C kept turning the TV up over the top of us because we were conversing. It is no surprise to me why C is the way he is. The TV was a babysitter since day one.

Thanks for the good read.

following from Mommy Blogs

www.touchofhomelearning.blogspot.com
www.thehickmanfour.blogspot.comSara Hickman designshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02932439554332340805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1639229484388989842.post-66264020755890599972010-11-03T16:34:34.868-04:002010-11-03T16:34:34.868-04:00Hi Heather! We did not have restrictions on tv and didn't really care about tv. We were not overweight and did well in school. I think I am going to take the same approach with my kids.Trisha @ The Sweet Survivalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03739376695499981301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1639229484388989842.post-16662914321896758312010-11-02T21:46:44.926-04:002010-11-02T21:46:44.926-04:00Hi - I am a new follower of yours from Bloggy Moms...Hi - I am a new follower of yours from Bloggy Moms! We have several TV's too. My kids go through phases of watching. Sometimes I do just have the TV on for "noise" too. I am a huge book reader, my 7 year old is reading too and, I have 3 yo twins, who enjoy looking at books. Love that your daughter sneaks grandma an email about a book. I grew up watching TV, and honestly I don't think it had any negative impact on me. I think you are right, it's more about the way it is used.

Love your blog!
