Finally added the page...

Just a quick note... I finally got a chance to focus and write out our diabetic diagnosis story. I have been asked many, many times about Macy's diagnosis and how we found out she was diabetic. I made it into a page rather than a post.
It was a tough time to bring back, but it is important for us to share what happened to us to educate  other moms and dads out there with children who may be showing early warning signs.

  1. Thanks for commenting! I feel better already.

I'm in Maryland. My husband is from Woodbridge. You're very close to us.

Good luck with the diabetes thing. I know first hand what a pain in the ass that can be.

  2. What an amazing story. My heart is just beating like crazy after reading that. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been for you. You are so right, though....I really believe that mothers know best when it comes to their children, and often our job is to be the advocate so they can get the care they need.

  18. My husband is Type 1 Diabetic and was diangnosed at the age of 19 when he was in the Army. It is a heart wrenching, soul testing, brain bending disease. I have been made stronger by dealing with this as we were married only 2 weeks after my 18th Birthday...13 years ago. I have seen my husband at his absolute worst because of Diabetes and I will hold a forever grudge against it. BUT I have also seen how close we can all get in the thick of trauma. I am sorry to hear that your daughter was diagnosed but so glad to see how on top of it you are. I am always on the lookout for symptoms with my own children. I am visiting from the Blog it Fwd hop. http://southernfriedgreenmom.blogspot.com/
